What is CBD?

CBD which is a shorter form of cannabidiol is a compound derived from cannabis. There is another important compound of cannabis called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which can produce psychoactive effect.

Enough studies about vaping CBD oil have not yet been done. Most of the clinical trials about CBD were focused on capsules taken orally, sprays taken sublingually or solutions taken orally.

Those who are living with asthma or any chronic disease of obstructive pulmonary often use certain aerosolized therapies. This kind of delivery system supplies medication directly into your lungs, those results in rapid clinical effect.

Usually, people also need very small dose as compared to oral or any subcutaneous injections.

Risks of CBD vaping

Till now FDA has not approved CBD extracted from cannabis sativa for use as medicine and is considered as schedule I drug. FDA also do not regulate CBD manufacturing and labeling in the USA.

Although condensation aerosols used in vape pens may be useful way to deliver drugs. However, according to few experts, not all products may contain same amount of CBD which is mentioned in the labels.

Researchers have conducted a study, and analyzed 2 e-liquids. As per their label, each product should consist of 3.3 mg/mL of CBD. They however found one of them had CBD of 7.6 mg/mL and the other had 6.5 mg/mL

Such deviations are the consequences of lack of regulation.

Due to absence of proper quality control, people may get unknown CBD doses and also few other components which may carry risks.

Usually, such things can occur because few oils may be lying in storage for very long periods under certain conditions which can promote its instability. Also, this can be due to lower concentrations in final purchased product.

Of late, doctors have also reported number of cases of severe injury of lung by vaping CBD. As per the statistics available from the CDC, during February 2020, in the USA, 2,807 people have received treatment in hospital for vaping.

Therefore, before you decide to use any CBD e-liquid for vaping, you need to do thorough research about it and also consult your doctors.
